The Manikaran Shiva Temple, located in the Kullu district near the Parvati Valley, is a highly revered site dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to local legends, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati visited this area and decided to stay temporarily. During their visit, Goddess Parvati lost a precious jewel in a stream. In response, Lord Shiva called upon Sheshnag, the Serpent God, to make the water boil, which led to the appearance of precious stones. This miraculous event gave the temple its name, Manikaran.
